During my time as President of Welfare and Equality with Fife College Students’ Association I was an active member of the Board of Governors and the National Union of Students committees and conferences. After my term ended I began to look for a trustee position with and organisation in Fife that I could continue to contribute to. In my new job role as Community Development Coordinator I still have an active role in facilitating awareness and opportunities with the students and community across Fife for volunteering and work placements.
I have worked with some of the Dunfermline Advocacy team during my time as president and their passion for change and work ethic always stuck with me. So when I saw they were looking for Board Trustees I had to apply. I have only been a part of a few meeting so far but I have enjoyed learning more about the organisation and am keen to continue this journey.
